A deep magenta hue, the 2021 Chianti Classico is expressive with vibrant aromas of red cherry liqueur, fresh rosemary, pine, and graphite. Approachable and supple with ripe, pure fruit, balanced, fresh acidity, fine tannins, and a juicy mid-palate, it would disappear quickly in my home, and while I love it now, it will do well over the coming 6-7 years.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby Color tending towards garnet. Pleasant nose, intensely varietal with hints of violets, balsamic notes and graphite. Harmonious on the tonge with a tangy, fruity aftertaste of ripe plum.

Perfect with red and white meats, such as hunter’s rabbit, roast guinea fowl with aromatic herbs or Tuscan-style beef stew. Also excellent with stewed game or roe deer loin

Winemaker Notes

This Chianti Classico D.O.C.G. is made with Sangiovese and a small percentage of Canaiolo grapes, carefully selected and dosed with the aim of obtaining a wine with marked characteristics of terroir, typicality and elegance.

Winery Notes

The organic Castello di Radda estate is located in Radda, a village that is home to some of the highest sites in Chianti Classico. The estate was completely replanted with predominantly Sangiovese when AGB arrived in 2003. The property includes just under 40ha of vineyard, including a plot in the prestigious cru of Vertine in nearby Gaiole. The combination of the cool climate and stony galestro soils makes for wines of firm structure and aromatic intensity.
