Compared to the 2020 vintage, the Isole delle Falcole 2019 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione immediately strikes you for its more subdued and understated approach. That's not to say that it lacks intensity, because it does not; it is just less immediate. You get dried currants, mint, spice, earth and almond over a medium to full-bodied finish. I look forward to tasting more from this very young, up-and-coming estate. Production is 3,200 bottles.

Polished and inviting nose of rhubarb, red plums, cinnamon and dried coconut. It’s medium-bodied and nicely spiced and firm while remaining supple. Tasty caramel undertones. Drink from 2024.
