93pts Jeb Dunnuck

Violets, cassis, ripe black cherries, and graphite all emerge from the 2022 Pastourelle De Clerc Milon, a ripe, medium to full-bodied, concentrated, and lively second wine that has tons to love. As with the Grand Vin, it's undeniably one of the best examples of this cuvée to date. It will keep for two decades if well stored.

93pts James Suckling

A tight center-palate to this juicy red, with plum, chocolate and cedar aromas that follow through to a medium body with creamy tannins and a savory finish. Delicious. A blend of 52% cabernet sauvignon and 40% merlot, with carmenere and petit verdot. Very attractive now, but will age nicely.

92pts Vinous

The 2022 Pastourelle de Clerc Milon is a heady, exuberant wine that captures all of the richness of the year in its flamboyant personality. Super-ripe dark cherry, plum, chocolate, licorice and sweet spice are all amplified nicely. The 2022 is an easygoing wine to drink now and over the next decade or so.

90pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Bursting with notes of sweet dark berries, plums, licorice and cigar wrapper, the 2022 Pastourelle de Clerc Milon is a medium to full-bodied, rich and ample wine that's juicy, layered and exuberant. This will offer a broad and flamboyant drinking window.

Tasting Notes

Radiant, Pastourelle de Clerc Milon 2022 releases a beautifully aromatic bouquet on wild bilberry and liquorice notes.

Precision, freshness and opulence play off each other, building a delightful harmony underpinned by elegant, refined tannins.

The impression of balance, heightened by notes of black fruit and pepper, lingers long.

The Label

In 1970, Baron Philippe illustrated the label with a reproduction of a Jungfraubecher, a silver-gilt marriage cup made by a 17th century German goldsmith, that was part of his collection exhibited at the Museum of Wine in Art at Château Mouton Rothschild.

In 1983, it was replaced by a pair of dancers which is also a reproduction of another piece from the museum, a precious miniature made of gold, enamel and pearls that belonged to Catherine II, empress of Russia, and inspired by characters of the Commedia dell’Arte.

Now more than ever, the label embodies Château Clerc Milon, with the wine being known on several international markets as “the two dancers”.

Blend: 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 2% Carmenère, 1% Petit Verdot
