91pts James Suckling
A relatively light, fresh and appealing Napa cab, offering bright cherry and berry aromas, moderate tannins and some good, appetizing acidity. Full-bodied in terms of alcohol, yet it feels balanced on the palate. Drink now.
Tasting Notes
Silver Ghost is a bold and richly expressive Cabernet Sauvignon, made from some of the finest vineyards in Napa Valley. It shows a deep color and vibrant bouquet of blueberries, violets, and crème de cassis. On the palate, layers of lush red and blue fruits, are complemented by notes of mocha and dark spice. The wine's luxurious texture and depth carry through to a long finish.
About the Wine
SILVER GHOST founder Weston Eidson’s great-grandfather, John Montagu, was a pioneer in the emerging automobile industry at the turn of the 20th century. As a British Lord and Member of Parliament, he was an instrumental figure in early automotive legislation. Montagu had a close relationship with Charles Rolls and Henry Royce, and suggested that his assistant serve as the model for the Rolls-Royce hood ornament, the Spirit of Ecstasy, which we still see on Rolls-Royce cars to this day. As a tribute to his family’s illustrious past, Weston adopted the name of his greatgrandfather’s favorite car - the 1909 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost.
