93pts James Suckling
This has aromas of dried pineapple, lemon, ripe pear, hazelnut and biscotti. It’s medium-bodied with vibrant acidity and a focused and subtly saline palate. Silky bubbles and a sleek, flavorful finish. Excellent length, too.
92pts Wine Enthusiast
A blend from different vineyards across the Côte de Sézanne, this wine offers warm white fruits and white-peach richness. The mineral edge of Chardonnay cuts through the wine, balancing the ripeness.

100% Chardonnay. Base vintage 2015 with 30% reserve wines. Partial malo. Dosage 7 g/l. Disgorged February 2021. Green florals, sage, lemon cream. Smoky grilled hazelnuts. A dash of salty pickle brine. Crunchy apples. Lots and lots of tightly wound, saline and lime-pickle tang. Silk-and-lace bubbles. A really, really interesting champagne! A real sense of story here, from start to mouth-drawing finish.
Winemaker Notes
From the little village of Bethon, the Le Brun de Neuville “Côte Blanche” Blanc de Blancs Champagne is one of the better deals we have had lately in the Champagne Club. This all-Chardonnay Champagne is based on 2014 with 30% reserves from older vintages. The Sézanne sub region is a valley bordered by chalky hillsides covered in vines in the middle of a high plain of windfarms and wheat. This is the first place in Champagne to harvest, and the riper style of the region comes through in this Meursault like cuvée. The pear fruit is framed by baguette toast from the five years on the lees and this makes a great partner for shellfish or sushi.
