The 2022 Pinot Noir Santa Barbara County comes from a mix of sites in Santa Barbara County and spent 10 months in 25% new barrels. Its medium ruby hue is followed by a solid appellation wine with earthy red and black cherry fruits, some floral and underbrush notes, medium body, and a round, supple, enjoyable style geared for drinking over the coming 4-6 years.
Wine Spectator
Black tea and savory notes infuse an open-knit core of black cherry and blackberry fruit. There's a brambly edge to the finish. Drink now through 2026. 15,089 cases made.
Wine Enthusiast
Fat and ripe aromas of black cherry meet with cola and coffee bean on the nose of this bottling. There's ample oak spice to the palate, which is dense with ripe fruit that's wrapped in a smooth, slightly flat texture.
Vinous
Ripe cherry, bitter almond, grilled herbs and orange peel open as the 2022 Pinot Noir (Santa Barbara County) unfurls in the glass. Light in body and a little hot toward the finish, it’s definitely on the far side of the ripeness spectrum, and you can sense the stress of the growing season in its gritty tannins.
Winemaker Notes
Aromas of black plum, fig, Cremini Mushrooms, and Rhubarb emerge from the glass. A rush of fresh blackberry, plum and savory herbs fill the senses after each sip. A broad, rich mid-palate, which is accented by fresh acidity and soft tannins.
Winery Notes
Siduri explores two exceptional areas within Santa Barbara County that are exceptionally well - suited for growing Pinot Noir - Santa Maria Valley and the Sta. Rita Hills. Pinot Noirs from the Santa Maria Valley provide "crunchy" fresh fruits that are laden with spice notes, while Pinot Noirs from the Sta. Rita Hills provide opulent red and black fruits that jump from the glass with tremendous energy. The marriage of these two distinctive growing areas provides a portrait of a beautiful place to grow cool
