Debuting with the 2012 vintage, Hanatoro produces a single wine each year, crafted exclusively from estate-grown fruit at Octave Vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley. It is the only wine entirely born from this distinctive site, and every bottle reflects a singular commitment to precision, restraint, and uncompromising attention to detail.

Our winemaking approach is guided by thoughtful stewardship of the land and a deep respect for sustainable growing and winemaking practices. The vineyard’s unique soils, elevation, and microclimate are carefully preserved through meticulous farming and minimal intervention in the cellar, allowing the character of Octave Vineyard to speak with clarity and authenticity. 

Under the stewardship of winemaker Justin Wylie, Hanatoro wines are gently aged for approximately 20 months in the finest French oak barrels sourced from the renowned forests of Allier, Tronçais, and Nevers in central France. Each lot is handled entirely by hand—patiently blended and bottled in extremely limited quantities of just 200–300 cases annually—ensuring purity, balance, and longevity.

Every vintage is a singular expression of Octave Vineyard, capturing the nuance of the growing season and the vineyard’s evolving voice. This handcrafted, estate-driven philosophy has earned Hanatoro consistent critical acclaim from Wine & Spirits and Wine Spectator, reinforcing its growing pedigree among the world’s finest single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons.
