The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Feusselottes reveals aromas of sweet cassis and raspberry fruit mingled with hints of rose petals and vine smoke, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and suave palate that's layered, polished and seamless, concluding with a saline finish. This is an especially charming Feusselottes in the making.

Slightly cooler though not more restrained aromas include those of essence of red pinot fruit and plum plus a lovely array of floral elements, in particular lilac and rose petal. The super-sleek and vibrant middleweight flavors exude a subtle bead of minerality on the utterly delicious if lightly austere finale that is shaped by fine-grained tannins. This too could use better depth, but more should reasonably develop. Drink 2032+ Sweet Spot Outstanding

Vineyard Notes

In the heart of the village, ‘Les Feusselottes’ is characterized by its bumpy terrain, located at the mouth of the “combe” or valley that feeds into Chambolle. Soils are alluvial, iron-rich silt which is thin on the surface; subsoils are pure limestone. The estate purchased the plot in 1985.
