Tasting Notes
The 2015 vintage reveals an intensely aromatic bouquet of dried cherries, blackberries, and dark plums, layered with notes of figs, raisins, and dark chocolate. There are also complex aromas of tobacco, leather, and licorice, along with hints of sweet spices such as cinnamon, clove, and vanilla. On the palate, this Amarone is full-bodied and opulent, with a velvety texture and firm yet refined tannins. The bright acidity brings freshness, balancing the richness of the concentrated fruit flavors. Layers of dark fruit, cocoa, espresso, and a touch of balsamic unfold gracefully, leading to an exceptionally long and elegant finish, marked by both power and finesse.
Wine Notes
Giuseppe Quintarelli Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva 2015 is an extraordinary wine from one of Italy's most legendary producers, representing the pinnacle of Amarone craftsmanship.
Produced only in exceptional vintages, the Riserva is a testament to the dedication and meticulous winemaking practices of the Quintarelli family. Crafted from the finest parcels of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and other traditional varieties, this Amarone undergoes an extensive appassimento process, in which the grapes are dried for several months to concentrate their flavors before fermentation. The wine is then aged for an extended period in large Slavonian oak barrels, allowing it to develop remarkable depth, complexity, and elegance.
