90pts James Suckling
Some pleasant sliced green apple and green melon aromas follow through to a medium body with medium round texture and a crisp finish. Tangy and fruity at the end, but not overpowering.
Vinous
The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc from Grove Mill is a simple, commercial style with dilute flavors and crisp acidity. Dry, light-bodied and short, it all feels rather muted, with reductive flinty characters subduing the green and just-ripe pineapple flavors.
Winemaker Notes
Grove Mill Sauvignon Blanc 2023 is bright pale straw in color with a light green hue. A bouquet of intense and lifted tropical fruits and a very juicy and vibrant palate makes for a punchy and contemporary style of Wairau Valley Sauvignon Blanc.
Enjoy with fresh seafood, creamy pasta dishes and summer barbeques.
Winery Notes
Established in 1988 by a group of local winegrowers, Grove Mill crafts wines that reflect the best of Marlborough’s Wairau Valley with minimal environmental impact. Their winemaking practices – from establishing a wetland which protects southern bell frogs to its landmark 2006 carbon-neutral certification – protect the nearby Wairau River, which is at the heart of Marlborough’s largest sub-region.
Since their first plantings in 1988 Grove Mill has continued to pioneer vineyard management techniques. They utilize natural and sensitive vineyard practices to enhance the regional character of our wines, which foster and further develop the unique Grove Mill style.
