Opaque violet color.  Sharply delineated dark berry and cherry preserve, olive, licorice, and succulent floral qualities on the highly perfumed nose.  Stains the palate with spice-laced blueberry, kirsch, spicecake and candied violet flavors that smoothly meld richness and energy.  The floral and spice notes carry strongly through a long, smoky finish that shows sharp definition and mineral cut. 

Winemaker Notes

Faithful to the terroir as weel as to the memory, Yves Cuilleron decides to break with the uniformalization of Syrah and plants old grape varieties adapted to our region but which have been abandoned.   Atypical nose of black fruits, notably blackberry, notes of leather and animals.  A beautiful power with developed tannins. A rich, complex and powerful wine.  Best drunk young, up to 5-7 years.
