93pts James Suckling
Black currant, chocolate and walnut aromas and flavors. It’s medium-bodied with polished tannins and a pretty texture. Vivid and creamy mouthfeel. Lovely finish. Second wine of Lynch-Bages.
91pts Wine Spectator
Reserved in style, with a hint of alder out front, followed by gently mulled black cherry and currant fruit. Shows subtle tugs of earth and bay leaf that run underneath, blossoming a bit through the dark finish. Solid.

Close to an even split of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the 2021 Echo De Lynch-Bages is surprisingly tight and closed, with almost reductive notes of smoky black cherries, graphite, and scorched earth. These carry over to the palate, where the wine is medium to full-bodied, has a concentrated, foursquare mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and outstanding length. The tannins are a bit aggressive, and this certainly might lack a touch of finesse, however, I do like the overall depth of fruit and its balance. Give bottles 2-3 years in the cellar, and I expect it will drink beautifully over the following decade.
90pts Vinous
The 2021 Echo de Lynch-Bages is a powerful, deep wine clearly marked by the year. In 2021, the Echo is quite a bit less fruity than is typical. There's also a touch less Cabernet Sauvignon in this year’s blend, but that is not evident given the wine’s personality. –Antonio Galloni
Winemaker Notes
The wines display a beautiful color and notable extractable anthocyanin content, despite the limited temperature variations during the summer. The ripening conditions and moderate water stress contribute to a vibrant freshness and an elegant aromatic complexity, marked by pronounced notes of fresh red fruits.
