Château Deyrem Valentin Margaux 2020 - 750ml

Château Deyrem Valentin Margaux 2020 - 750ml
93pts James Suckling
A tight and full-bodied Margaux with a layered and scented nose of currants, plums, subtle vanilla spices, some stones and a hint of fennel. This is pretty nuanced and classy on the nose, and turns vertical on the palate with juicy berries, cassis and silky, fine-grained tannins. Drinkable now, but better from 2024.
92pts Wine Enthusiast
This perfumed, wood-aged wine, with its 50% of structured Cabernet Sauvignon, is fine and ripe, with a great balance. The fruit and structure are working together to give an elegant wine. It will age, drink from 2025.
90pts Vinous
The 2020 Deyrem Valentin is a powerful, opulent Margaux. Ultimately, this feels a bit pushed, with an oak imprint that has dried out the fruit. I find this lacking in both fruit and freshness. Tasted two times.
Winemaker Notes
Characterised by a rich and powerful red fruit nose with notes of vanilla and toast, this elegant oak-matured ruby red wine delights the palate with its overtones of liquorice, delicate spice and red fruit, while its tannic content provides a long and firm finish.
Blend: 50% Merlot, 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Petit Verdot
