100pts James Suckling

The 2019 Pinot Noir is a jeweled ruby hue and has layered aromas of pristine cherry, cardamom, rose petal, and sweet herbs. It has incredible clarity and focus, with and a silky texture in its notes of raspberry liqueur and violets, and somehow seems to have more depth after the wine is gone. It offers fantastic balance and a sunny feel, with great refinement that lasts for ages. This wine is outstanding. Drink 2023-2032.

96pts Jeb Dunnuck

From the Russian River Valley, the 2019 Pinot Noir is layered with spice and a perfume of incense, five-spice, and kirsch. The palate is elegant, with beautiful concentration all the way through, and offering notes of raspberry leather, forest herbs, and cedar. Hold 2-4 years and drink over the next 10 or more years.

96pts Wine Enthusiast

Deep and concentrated black cherries and black currants fuel this full-bodied and superbly fruit-focused wine as tangy acidity and light tannins add a textured frame. The wine tastes lively, focused, pure and delicious. It will be best through 2030

95pts Vinous

The 2019 Pinot Noir Estate is a racy, pliant wine that shows the laid back personality of the year off to great effect. Crushed red berry fruit, blood orange, mint and cinnamon are front and center. Silky tannins and lifted, perfumed aromatics pull it all together in style.

Winemaker Notes

A medley and a strong presence of freshly picked red berries, with hints of anise flowers, freshly turned earth, and wafts of ocean breeze. Ripe red raspberries and brambly fruits, bursting with lush red cherry and cranberry tart, nuanced with subtle citrus notes and light orange peel. A supple and silky texture with vibrant acidity and commanding structure. Noticeable grip yet well-integrated tannins that create movement in the palate and a long energetic finish.

The 2019 growing season was a powerful expression of Mother Nature’s ever-changing force. Record-breaking winter rainfall was followed by a moderate spring with cool temperatures. This resulted in a later bud break and idyllic summer ripening. Harvest had concluded and our lots were resting safely in tank when a historic wildfire swept through Sonoma County in late October. The season produced an exceptional vintage, the wines are intense yet elegant with notable structure and balance, of similar character as the 2013 vintage.
