92pts James Suckling
A well-rounded, supple and fine red made of 70% grenache and 30% syrah. The nose shows notes of baked cherries, sweet berries and sweet spices. It’s medium- to full-bodied with powdery tannins. Textured and subtle, with a caressing touch of juicy berries and a satisfying finish. Drink or hold.

Ripe cherries, sappy garrigue, baking spices, and hints of fennel all emerge from the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape, a nicely balanced, medium-bodied Châteauneuf that has fine tannins and terrific balance. A blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah, it's one heck of a classic cuvée that has lots of character and charm, and while it's terrific today, it has a solid decade or more of longevity ahead of it.
90pts Vinous
Mixing 70% Grenache with 30% Syrah, the 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape blooms with intense garrigue, ripe raspberry, wild strawberry and a dash of licorice. Markedly spicy, the full-bodied 2022 is supported by firm tannins, winding down with spice-box subtleties on the savory finish.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
With an oxidized-driven style, the 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape from Domaine du Grand Tinel evokes aromas of bay leaf, garrigue, jam strawberries, baked dark wild berries and black olive tapenade. Round and supple, medium-bodied and sweet, it's dominated by alcohol with a short, jammy finish. This blend of 70% Grenache Noir and 30% Syrah was matured in a mix of wooden tanks (foudres), used barrels and demi-muids.
Tasting Notes
Bright red fruit and sweet spices on the nose. A fine, round mouthfeel, with fine, coated tannins.
Winery Notes
The odyssey unfolds between Avignon and Orange, on the banks of the Rhône, where the popes, captivated by the area, established their residence in the 14th century. The Grand Tinel estate, founded in 1972, already boasts a long and rich history. Born from the union of the Jeune and Establet families, each a winemaker since the 18th century, the property has grown in proportion to the quality of its wines, with each passing barrel.
