Summer of 2018 saw 50% less rainfall on average, fortunately winter and spring received plenty of rain to fill the water tables from which our older vines could get what they needed. As a side note, Burgundy cannot -by law irrigate its vineyards. This allows the roots of the vines to reach deeper into the earth to get their nutrients.
The end results of these climatic conditions gave our Pinot Noirs a deeper coloration and concentration of flavors but still fresh due to a good level of acidity.
Harvest at the Domain started early on Sept 3rd!
Its robe is a dark ruby with hues of bleu. Its aromas open up with violets and the taste is more on the strawberries and raspberries.
It can be enjoyed in its youth with barbecued grilled meats, charcuterie and vegetarian dishes.
