91pts Wine Spectator
Dense and complex, this ultra-pale version starts off a bit closed before opening up to reveal apple blossom, crunchy nectarine and pear flavors cut with notes of crushed flint, while a thread of salty, smoky dried green herbs cruises through. Creamy and refined, this is drinkable and delicious. Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Drink now through 2028. 11,000 cases imported.
Tasting Notes
The 2023 blend is composed of 55% Grenache, 25% Cinsault, 14% Mourvèdre, and 6% Syrah. The wine displays an elegant peach hue flecked with silver. The nose opens with hints of exotic fruits, followed by jasmine and white-fleshed fruit aromas, underpinned by a delicate minerality. On the palate, the wine is remarkably soft, revealing complex summer fruit flavors. Its silky texture gently evolves into a chalky, mineral finish, accentuated by a subtle hint of white pepper.
About the Wine
Château de Selle Rosé is a blend of the Côtes de Provence AOC grape varieties, with a majority of Grenache, which gives the wine great balance. The Cinsault adds softness, while the Syrah and Mourvèdre bring fruit and structure.
