97pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2019 Gaisböhl G.C. is pure, fresh and flinty on the lemon-scented nose that is the youngest of all the 2019s of the domain at this early stage. Juicy, piquant and salty on the palate, this is an intense but pure, linear and almost weightless dry Riesling with a crystalline structure, salinity and decent finesse. The finish is intense and mineral but also juicy, with concentrated fruit flavors. A promising classic, perhaps the coolest style of the 2019 vintage here. Tasted as a barrel sample in April 2020. 95pts James Suckling
Full of yellow fruit (the ripest nectarines), this is very juicy, but avoids any hint of opulence, thanks to the very fresh acidity that lifts everything effortlessly. The finish is oh, so silky. From biodynamically grown grapes with Biodyvin certification. Drink or hold.
A very pithy and concise Gaisböhl. Aromas of mirabelle with a herbal note. In the mouth fresh peach, very precise fruit with a clear structure. A wine with an enormous body and pressure in the long finish.
Summery temperatures at the end of March let us fear an even earlier harvest than in 2017 and 2018 but then two cold weeks in May stopped the vegetation almost entirely and the growth in the vineyards slowed down. The flowering was varying and effected smaller quantities than the previous year. The summer was beautiful and extremely dry but unlike in 2018 the vineyards could benefit from more winter wetness. The harvest started in early September and the wines in our cellar are just fantastic! The brilliance and clarity of each terroir is perfectly recognizable and the acidity is wonderfully balanced. 2019 is a great vintage for us!
