91pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Scents of raspberries and cherries mix with notes of violets and candied peel in an inviting bouquet introducing Breton's 2018 Morgon Vieilles Vignes, a medium to full-bodied, satiny wine with a touch more structure and more carnal nuances, too. It saw eight months in used barrels. Rating: 91+
91pts James Suckling
Attractive depth here, which marries well with Breton’s penchant for fine, fresh style. The strawberries are ripe and juicy and the tannins are set in neatly balanced formation. Drink now.
91pts Wine Spectator
Delicately laced flavors of cherry, peach and currant are accented by rose water, tea and anise notes in this light-bodied red. Undertones of mineral gain traction on the spicy finish. Light tannins. Drink now through 2025.
There’s great fruit here, raspberries and pomegranates, a traditional, rustic, spicy nose, stony freshness from the schist soil, and a refreshing acidity. Eighty-year-old vines give this Guy some muscle, too.
