90pts Vinous
Crushed blackberries and cherries mix with rosemary and ashen stone as the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Hilltop comes to life in the glass. Silky smooth, it washes across the palate with a cascade of ripe black fruits and licorice tones as a tinge of graphite informs the close. Hints of mocha mingle with edgy tannins through the long and staining finish. The 2022 leaves a lingering tart berry concentration on the close.
James Suckling
Baked blueberries, roasted plums and toast on the nose, followed by dusty, grainy tannins on a full-bodied palate. The toast character is a little one-dimensional. Drink now.
Winemaker's Notes
Displays blackberry and blueberry compote aromas garnished with crushed violet, cracked pepper, and black tea. Plump fruit on the palate with fine-grained tannins. Juicy layers of black and red currants lead to a bright finish accented by pastry notes from the 16 months aging in French cooperage.
Delicious with rosemary seasoned ribeye, and garlic roasted potatoes with parsnips and fennel.
