93pts James Suckling
A hint of cedar and dark chocolate to the black cherries, black berries and spices. Truffle and tree bark, too. Complex and juicy with a medium- to full-bodied palate. Tannins are dusty and refined followed by a long finish. From organically grown grapes. Vegan. Drink or hold.
Tasting Notes
A blend of quintessential Bordeaux varieties, elegant on the nose, with toasted notes and spicy undertones resulting from its ageing in oak barrels. It has a powerful attack, followed by a lengthy, full-bodied mid-palate with excellent tannins and a long, lingering finish.
Winemaker Notes
Jean Leon set sail for the USA as a stowaway from the French port of Le Havre, where he was soon discovered by a sailor who decided to help him stay hidden. This Reserva pays homage to the silent complicity of a stranger who would change Jean Leon's life forever.
Made from Cabernet Sauvignon and a small percentage of Cabernet Franc, this limited-production wine is produced from a unique 12-hectare terroir bearing the same name.
VIneyard Notes
Vinya Le Havre holds the Qualified Single Estate Wine certification, meaning, in winemaking terms, that it is produced from a vineyard with specific features that confer unique characteristics to the wine and a microclimate that favours its maximum expression.
