Joseph Mellot 'La Chatellenie' Sancerre 2023 - 750ml

Joseph Mellot 'La Chatellenie' Sancerre 2023 - 750ml
93pts James Suckling
A juicy, seductive and succulent Sancerre with spiced pears, wild herbs and hints of lemons and stones on the nose. It's medium-bodied with bright acidity. There is volume on the palate, with a fresh, vertical core and a mineral edge. Lively and driven, with a persistent finish. Drink or hold.
Tasting Notes
Pale yellow color with green hues. Intense mineral notes giving way to a fruity and delicate expression. Mineral and elegant mouth with aromas of pear and yellow peach bringing the aromatic and juicy side of the wine. Elegant salinity, well-balanced.
Ideal with white fishes, a creamy risotto with curry shrimps, a grilled crayfish or also with Crottin de Chavignol, an old Comté.
About the Winery
Our Joseph MELLOT family and winery have their roots in Sancerre: its history began 5 centuries ago with Pierre-Etienne, the first in our long line of winemakers. At the end of the 17th century, César Mellot was King Louis XIV’s Wine Adviser.
Over time, Joseph MELLOT expanded by acquiring new vineyards. Nowadays, our Portfolio includes a wide variety of wines from the Centre-Loire Region.
