93pts James Suckling
A full, rich Bordeaux blend with loads of blackberry, currant, chocolate and walnut character. Some mint, too. Round and polished tannins. Loads of fruit at the finish. Yet, it turns slightly reserved and poised. Blend of 58% cabernet sauvignon, 39% malbec and 3% petit verdot. This will age beautifully. Give it at least three to four years to come around.
91pts Tim Atkin
All produced from estate fruit, and very much the exception at white wine-focused Klein Constantia, this is Cabernet Sauvignon-based red with 42% Malbec and Petit Verdot. Fresh and elegant, with finer tannins and less greenness than some previous releases, it has fine oak, good structure and flavours of blackcurrant pastille and cinnamon spice.
Deep ruby red in appearance. Intense aromas of black and red fruit burst on the nose followed by a delicate wood spice. The rich and complex palate is balanced with bold taninns and an elegant backbone. The wine concludes with a long velvety finish.
