93pts Wine & Spirits
From estate parcels in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, all 2010 fruit, this is a lively young blend with purity and clarity of expression. As it opens in the glass, it reveals delicate scents of apple blossoms, zesty pear-skin greenness and a pale integration of mineral acidity that makes it refreshing and delicious. The dosage is a little aggressive, but it’s there to mellow the fierceness of the acidity, the wine likely best four or five years from release. (12/2014)
92pts Vinous
White flowers, lemon oil, mint and chalk run through the NV (2014) Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Delos. The Brut version, done with 7 grams of dosage offers a bit more brightness in its citrus and floral-infused flavors and lightness in texture next to the Extra Brut version. Ultimately, the differences between the Extra Brut and Brut versions of the Delos are more stylistic than qualitative. Disgorged: March 2017. Dosage is 7 grams per liter. (AG) (12/2017)
92pts Wine Enthusiast
From grand cru vineyards in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, this beautiful, ripe wine is on top form. Great minerality mingles with some bottle age, fruit and toast in harmony. This rich bottling is ready to drink.
90pts Wine Spectator
A fresh and creamy version, with a citrusy overtone to the subtle palate of biscuit, golden currant, smoke and slivered almond. Mouthwatering, presenting a lingering savory finish. Disgorged April 2013. Drink now through 2019.
Winemaker Notes
The aristocrat from Mesnil, for this is the primary wine produced at the estate’s home vineyards. If the democrat is round, soft, delicious, easy and fine, the aristocrat is lean, long, mineral, racy, and very fine. Production averages 60,000 bottles. (Delos is the maiden name of Nicole and Yves' mother.)
