The Powell & Son Eden Valley Riesling emanates from a single site in the high Flaxman’s Valley, 480 metres above sea level. The five acre vineyard showcases dry grown, rod and spur pruned Riesling vines now over eighty years old. Grapes are hand-picked, whole bunch pressed, cold settled and fermented dry prior to cold stabilisation and bottling. This honest approach ensures a clear expression of the great vineyard from which the wine originates.
It displays beautiful aromas typical of Eden Valley Riesling: lemon rind, floral perfumes, honeysuckle and crushed stones, with a fresh palate enlivened by a strong acid backbone which draws out into a long steely finish.
