Winemaker Notes

This dark ruby colored Cabernet Franc is a nice blend of New World and Old World styles. It opens with a fragrant new leather and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is tasty cedar infused tart black cherry with notes of plum and cinnamon. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors and dusty tannins show nice length. I would pair this very impressive Cab Franc with braised short ribs. Our most anticipated release each year, this wine is sourced from 3 of Napa Valley’s amazing growers in Mt. Veeder, Oak Knoll District, and Chiles Valley. Both elegant and explosive, showcasing old world complexity with just the right amount of California opulence. Nose of deep, brooding plum and black cherries with lingering rich earth. The black fruit reflects in the palette with baking spices and a long finish.
