92pts James Suckling
Attractive, dark-fruited character with blue flowers, chocolate and wet stones. Full-bodied with fine, glossy tannins and succulent, delicious fruit. Mellow and sleek. Drink or hold.
92pts Wine Enthusiast
A wine that overdelivers on flavor and versatility, its a good value for Napa Cabernet. Flavors of black currant, bay laurel and pine, graphite and tobacco leaf are carried by fine-grained tannins and a palate cleansing, lingering finish.
Tasting Notes
Silver Ghost is a full-bodied and richly expressive Cabernet Sauvignon crafted from some of Napa Valley’s finest vineyards. Deep in color with a vibrant nose of blueberries, violets and crème de cassis the palate reveals layers of lush red and blue fruits, mocha and dark spice. The luxurious texture and depth continue through the long finish.
About the Wine
SILVER GHOST founder Weston Eidson’s great-grandfather, John Montagu, was a pioneer in the emerging automobile industry at the turn of the 20th century. As a British Lord and Member of Parliament, he was an instrumental figure in early automotive legislation. Montagu had a close relationship with Charles Rolls and Henry Royce, and suggested that his assistant serve as the model for the Rolls-Royce hood ornament, the Spirit of Ecstasy, which we still see on Rolls-Royce cars to this day. As a tribute to his family’s illustrious past, Weston adopted the name of his greatgrandfather’s favorite car - the 1909 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost.
