90pts Jeb Dunnuck
From a site in Yountville and all Cabernet, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Deux Chevaux Vineyard sports a dense purple hue to go with classy notes of cassis, leafy tobacco, and cedar pencil. With medium-bodied richness, a balanced, elegant texture, light tannins, and solid length on the finish, this well-made beauty shows the purity and class that make the 2018 vintage so special. It's a good value and will keep for 7-8 years, probably longer.
Vibrant garnet color to the rim. Aromas of vanilla, pecan, plum and red berry intermingle with hints of tobacco, black tea and leather. Primary flavors are bold and rich. Notes of blackberry, lush plum and red-brick minerality give way to just a hint of cranberry, orange and confectionary flavors. Medium, dusty tannins accompanied by nice acidity give way to a long and pleasant finish. Allow this wine to age and the secondary flavors of dark fruit, blackberry and currant will express themselves during cellar time.
