Tapiz Black Tears Malbec 2018 - 750ml
Tapiz Black Tears Malbec 2018 - 750ml
96pts James Suckling
Deep blue and black fruit here, with floral, spicy and balsamic accents. Brooding and complex. You have to fathom the power of tannin on the palate, as the texture is so ultra-fine and polished. But don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of tannins here, only so seamless that they make it taste so effortless. Naturally concentrated, juicy and long.
92pts Wine Spectator
Delivers aromas of petrichor and dried violet that make for an alluring entry, while the palate offers nice vibrancy to well-defined plum and red currant flavors. Offers nuances of mineral and olive that fold in around fine tannins and a lingering note of dark chocolate.
Winemaker Notes
Tapiz is Spanish for “tapestry,” as in the tapestry between the wine's high-altitude fruit and oak. The wine is called Black Tears because of the amazing color intensity. Intense blue and black fruits that stain your glass with its black tears. Concentrated and intense yet elegant and smooth.
