94pts James Suckling
A firm and crunchy red with blackberries, currants and hints of dark mushrooms and bark. Medium-bodied with a touch of graphite. Polished at the end. 40% Oakville Valley fruit. Drink or hold.
94pts The Wine Palate
The 2023 Napa County Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 4% Malbec, and 4% Petite Sirah. Deep garnet-purple colored, it charges out with notes of cassis, black plums, and pencil shavings, followed by hints of camphor, black olives, and crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers energetic black fruit layers with a firm, grainy texture and great tension, finishing long and savory. YUM!
92pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Slightly herbal, sage-like nuances join black cherries on the nose, while the medium- to full-bodied palate finishes firm and dusty with ripe tannins. It needs a bit of time—buy and drink the 2022 in the meantime—but should represent another great value.
91pts Jeb Dunnuck
Based on 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec, 5% Petite Sirah, 4% Merlot, and 4% Petite Verdot, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon was aged 17 months in 55% new French oak. Juicy black cherries, currants, sappy herbs, and floral forest nuances all shine here. It's medium-bodied, has a round, supple mouthfeel, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish. This beauty is perfect for enjoying over the coming 7-8 years. Drink 2025-2033.
90pts Vinous - Top Value Wines 2025
The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is superb. Bright and sculpted, it presents gorgeous notes of inky dark fruit, graphite, crushed rocks, lavender and menthol. Medium in body, the 2023 impresses with its lifted aromatics, sculpted fruit and overall energy.
Tasting Notes
The 2023 Amici Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is an elegant and finely balanced wine. Aromas of cocoa powder, sandalwood, and baking spice lift from the glass, layered with deep cassis. On the medium-bodied palate, flavors of cherry cordial and chocolate truffle are accented by notes of cedar box. Bright acidity and silky tannins carry through the long, graceful finish, ensuring excellent aging potential.
