This wine showcases fruit from Starr Vineyard (Rutherford), Somerston (Chiles Valley), and White Satin Vineyard in Napa Carneros. It is aged for 22 months in 60% new French oak. In 2023, the wine offers red- and black-fruited character, with graphite-rich, chiselled tannins supporting a bulwark of juicy dark berry fruit and generous spice. Kirk Venge began making the wines in 2002, working with owners Justin and Seana Stephens. The winery, located in St Helena, sits across the Silverado Trail from Rombauer.

Tasting Notes

Profound and dynamic fruit flavors of black raspberries, red currants and Damson
plums combine with complex notes of licorice, pie crust and cocoa dust for a dense
yet focused palate. A long and complex finish is framed by ripe and integrated tannins
with a touch of minerality
