92pts James Suckling
Blackcurrants and blackberries with hints of eucalyptus, walnuts and cedar on the nose. Full-bodied with firm but polished tannins and a smooth, lengthy aftertaste. Delicious fruit coming through. Needs some time in the bottle. Try from 2026.
Winemaker's Notes
The Oakville Estate Vineyard delivers that lust for an uber ripe rendition of this noble grape and the true nature of the famous Oakville Appellation. Aromas of dark mixed berries, blackberry pie, bay leaf, chocolate-covered espresso beans, toffee, and black tea leaf serenade the senses. The midpalate brings the minerals of the complex valley floor of Oakville that pushes into a velvety texture with mixed berry flavors supported by firm and fine-grain tannins. Rich and full, this Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is incredibly age-worthy.
About the Wine
Our original Signature Collection wine, first released in 2002, is all about the Oakville AVA. The dense, cane-pruned vines deliver the full impact of the Oakville soil into the body of this wine.
Vineyard Notes
The Tamber Bey Oakville Estate Vineyard is located at the southern end of Napa Valley’s famous Oakville Appellation. It has gravel/loam soils that are relatively shallow and well suited for Cabernet Sauvignon. The site enjoys early morning fog and late afternoon breezes that are influenced by the San Francisco Bay to the south. To encourage competition for sun, water and nutrients, the vineyard is planted with more than 9,500 vines in a tight formation on 3 acres.
About the Winery
Tamber Bey is a family-owned and operated company that produces wine from its two estate-owned vineyards in the heart of the Napa Valley: the Estate Vineyard in Oakville and the Deux Chevaux Vineyard in Yountville. Tamber Bey also sources fruit from seven premium vineyards in Napa, Sonoma and Lake counties. The name Tamber Bey reflects the names of owner Barry Waitte’s first two Arabian horses, Tamborina (Tamber) and Bayamo (Bey).
