Ripe golden fruits, honeyed minerality, a kiss of iodine, crème brûlée, and white flower notes all emerge from the appellation 2022 Chardonnay Sta. Rita Hills, and as always, it competes with the best out there, offering medium to full-bodied richness, a round, layered mouthfeel, integrated acidity, and a great finish. Sourced from the 3D, Machado, Hapgood, and Perilune vineyards, it will evolve for 15 years in cold cellars.

A fresh and electrifying Chardonnay comprised of three different Sta Rita Hills sites. Herbal aromatics of sweet hay, wild dill and tarragon meld with notes of grilled orange rind. The palate offers flavours of candied ginger, grilled lemon, orange oil, crushed quartz and chalk minerality.

The 2022 Chardonnay (Sta. Rita Hills) is a fabulous introduction to the range. Served last in this series of Chardonnays, the appellation Chardonnay is perhaps a bit more floral and lighter in body, but other than that, it is in no way inferior to the vineyard designates. This is beautifully done.

Winemaker Notes

This blend is comprised of 3D, Machado, Hapgood and Perilune vineyards. While each lot is handled separately and in a completely uniform fashion in the winery, each contributes vastly different expressions which ultimately harmonize in the finished wine.

Aromas of lemon, kiwi, orange blossom, and sweet basil with notes of jasmine, lime ginger and minerality on the palate.
