93pts Wine Spectator
Vibrant and generous, with lilting raspberry and tart cherry flavors highlighted by green tea, forest floor and sandalwood tones as this gathers tension and structure toward refined tannins.

Crushed cherries, raspberries and dried cranberries here, together with savory herbs, dried flowers and wet stones. Medium-bodied, chalky and polished with delicious cherries and hints of red spices. Crunchy and vibrant finish. Drink now.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley pours a dark but transparent hue and is ripe and forward with blackberry fruit, turned earth, and purple flowers. Medium-bodied, with ripe fruit and a modest finish, it lifts cleanly off the palate with a bit of earthy texture on the finish. Drink 2023-2028.
Tasting Notes
Aromas of spiced raspberries and ripe Hood strawberries gently fold into warm vanilla oak. Rainier cherry and cocoa provide a savory sweetness and weight on the palate leading to a lengthy finish.
Winemaker Notes
This wine reflects the region’s distinct textures, flavors and terroir, with beautiful elegance and balance. Since its inaugural vintage in 1998, the Penner-Ash winemaking team has drawn upon longstanding relationships with grower neighbors and friends, to source fruit from the most distinguished vineyards. The 2021 vintage explores five sub-AVAs, culminating in a Pinot Noir emblematic of the Willamette Valley, and of the Penner-Ash winemaking style – a textural experience from start to finish.
