91pts Wine Spectator
Plush and juicy, with peach cobbler, mango puree, vanilla anglaise and marmalade accents to the dense, fleshy frame. Toasted brioche and caramelized sugar linger on the finish. Drink now. 414 cases made.
91pts Jeb Dunnuck
The 2022 Chardonnay Deux Chevaux Vineyard is a solid step up, with more purity, precision, and complexity. Ripe stone fruits, honeyed flowers, spice, and a kiss of brioche all define the aromatics, and it has medium-bodied richness, a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel, and nicely integrated acidity.
Winemaker's Notes
This wine has an opulent texture and the aromatic complexity to match. Rich, expressive notes of mandarin, jasmine, caramelized sugar, pineapple and ripe guava coat the mouth and linger long after each concentrated sip. The wine is composed of our very best fruit from our six estate-owned vineyard blocks. Each clone contributes its own unique flavors and attributes to the final cuvée, which is rounded out by 14 months’ aging in pristine French oak barrels, with just enough lees stirring to add richness to the midpalate without sacrificing fruit intensity.
