The 2018 Red Blend Alessio is composed of 37.5% Cabernet Franc from Sugarloaf Mountain vineyard, 37.5% Cabernet Sauvignon from Tench vineyard and 25% Merlot from Sugarloaf Mountain vineyard. Deep garnet-purple colored, it leaps from the glass with vibrant kirsch, dried Provence herbs and dusty soil scents with a core of warm cassis, blueberry pie and menthol. Medium to full-bodied, the rich, dark fruit have a lovely red berry and herbal lift, framed by grainy tannins and refreshing acidity, finishing long and minty. 115 cases were made.-LPB

Lots of redcurrants, bouquet garni, iron, leafy tobacco and cedary spice emerge from the 2018 Alessio Proprietary Red. A complex, satisfying 2018 offering full-bodied richness, ripe, sweet tannins, and terrific balance, I’d be happy to drink a bottle any time over the coming 15-20 years.
Winemaker Notes
Immediate aromatics of cocoa and floral leap from the glass. Juicy red fruits equates to a beautiful round texture to match. Polished and refined as Alessio has always been, the 2018 brings an extra level on intensity.
For PerUs, he has sourced fruit from two of Napa Valley’s most prestigious vineyards: Sugarloaf Mountain and the Tench Vineyard adjacent to Screaming Eagle in the heart of Oakville.
