91pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The NV Blanc de Rose is Chardonnay and Pinot Noir co-fermented that spent 50-55 hours on the skins. It shows fabulous tension and energy from start to finish. Red berries, lemon, spices, flowers and mint are some of the notes that wrap around the finish. This is an intensely pointed jewel of a wine. The Blanc de Rose is 100% 2009 juice, with 1 gram per liter of dosage. Disgorged May 12, 2011. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2015.
91pts Vinous
The NV Brut Blanc de Rose is an intriguing blend of equal parts Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, co-fermented. Spice, ginger, cranberry, sweet red cherry and rose petal are all nicely lifted. The Blanc de Rose is very pretty, but it is also a touch wild and fleeting. I would prefer to drink it over the next few years. Disgorged: November, 2017.
Winemaker Notes
'Blanc de Rose' is unique in Champagne, as it is a co-maceration of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Damery and Cumieres. The delicate nose reveals notes of rose and violet petals and a hint of grenadine. In the mouth the striking minerality releases aromas of mandarin orange zest and pink grapefruit. The whole is complimented by a wonderful bitterness and very pleasant freshness as it fades from the mouth.
