Winemaker Notes

This wine is a tribute to the oldest vineyard of our property and to the tenderness of a father. Benito Escudero Abad, father of the present owners, elaborated this wine in 1956 to
commemorate the birth of his first child. He chose the grapes from the oldest vineyard of Vidau's (120 years) and selected the grapes over ripened to elaborate this wine. Once collected, the grapes, he extended them outdoors and exposed to the sun on thyme plants in order to achieve a higher concentration in sugar. Once accomplished, the grapes
were transferred to the cellar for further elaboration without the use of any mechanical
system and fermented in concrete tanks, until its passage to oak barrels.

For 59 years it has remained in barrels and has been maintained throughout all these years. His children have taken care of this wine for everything it represents for the family and in homage to their father who still lives. In this year 2016 we bottled about 1500 bottles of 0,50 liters, of the 19.000 liters that were aged. Each bottle goes in an individual case, with a parchment written by Benito with his signature and where he identifies the bottle number. A delightful wine, where aromas and sensations are extraordinary, like life itself.

Tasting Notes

Red color with mahogany tones, clean and shiny. In the nose it is fascinating and powerful.
Very ripe fruit aromas, raisins, plums and touches of licorice and wood aromas of its long
aging in barrel predominated coffee. Enveloping mouth, warm, persistent in its passage
where there is a true explosion of flavors.
