Tasting Notes
We found it pertinent to capture the lush, blueberry pie essence that this Merlot rocks. Dark, black, fruit and a solid structure lay a foundation with Boysenberries and deep blueberries. Finishing with baking spices and lingering fruit; this wine truly reflects what a Merlot is supposed to be.
About the Wine
Formally known as ‘Purgatory’; This Merlot has deep plum bomb with blueberries. Exceptionally structured with a hint of cedar plank and sarsaparilla. Well integrated, mild chalky tannins. As far as Merlots go, this is kind of a Beast.
About the Winery
Revolver Wine Co. is a boutique Napa Valley winery founded in 2000 by veteran winemaker David Paige and his wife, Paula Moschetti, after Paige’s long tenure at Far Niente and Nickel & Nickel. Built around a philosophy of balance, elegance, and site expression, Revolver focuses on small-lot Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay sourced from top Napa vineyards, including estate fruit in Oak Knoll and select sites in Rutherford and Coombsville. Known for its polished, age-worthy style and minimalist winemaking approach, Revolver has earned a reputation as a quiet insider winery that blends classic Napa structure with modern finesse.
Their Story
The idea of creating Page Wine Cellars happened in the summer of 1996. The opportunity opened up for Bryan Page to tour many Chateaus throughout the Bordeaux region, falling in love with their incredible wines. After his culinary tour in Europe ended, he returned home to California. He simultaneously worked at several restaurants ‘saving every penny’, while apprenticing at a few Napa Valley wineries, with the goal and desire of making his own wines, under his own label.
In 1997 Page Wine Cellars officially began. The first vintage of Proprietary Red produced only 36 cases. His journey from culinary school student and server, to chef and Sommelier, then onto winemaker had begun.
This is not just a winery where a “consultant” winemaker produces the wines then the family name is labeled on the bottle. Page Wine Cellars is about brothers Bryan and Chris Page, hands on crafting our unique and remarkable wines.
