94pts Decanter
According to Jean-Baptiste Bouzereau, 'This is the Grand Charron of our premiers crus,' referring to the approachable, Meursault-like character, which delivers lush aromas of ripe apples, acacia flowers and a balanced acidity that lead into an impressively long finish. The grapes are from 0.43ha, fairly low on the slope of Champs-Gains, close to La Truffière; they are slowly pressed and fermented in cask, 25% new. The wine ages a year in cask and another four months in tank before bottling.
93pts Vinous
The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Les Champs Gains 1er Cru sprints out of the blocks on the nose with lively peach skin, citrus peel and crushed stone scents—très Puligny. The palate is slightly pithy and very well balanced, with good body and plenty of extract alongside a vibrant mineral-rich finish. This is actually better than the 2022—recommended.

Mid lemon yellow. Quite floral on the nose, with ripe citrus. Firm acidity provides the backbone, more of the citrus to finish, quite attractive without quite the charisma of the best. Drink from 2028-2033.
91pts Burghound
Note: from a .40 ha parcel that abuts Truffière. Elegant, layered and appealingly fresh aromas of acacia blossom, spice, citrus and green apple give way to lilting but decidedly punchy middle weight flavors that exude a more subtle bead of minerality on the youthfully austere finale that also delivers quality persistence. This is a wine that could actually be reasonably approached after 3 to 4 years of keeping yet repay up to a decade of it.*Burghound Outstanding!*
