94pts Wine Enthusiast

Lush and layered, this intensely rich and handsomely oaky wine wraps full tannins around dark chocolate, espresso and black cherries for a huge palate impression. Toasted oak, toasted almonds, graphite and tobacco mingle on the palate and linger on the finish. Best from 2028–2040.

95pts James Suckling

This cool and compact estate-grown wine comes from an east-facing vineyard block and offers many of the characteristics of the nearby Coombsville AVA. Includes 4% cabernet franc and 3% malbec. Blueberries, violets, dark chocolate and potpourri infuse the aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, velvety in texture and with the structure to age. Drink or hold.

95pts Jeb Dunnuck

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Signori comes from the back, cooler portion of the property and is 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Malbec, all raised in French oak. It's a deep inky hued effort that has gorgeous black cherry and darker currant fruits as well as some ripe tobacco, iron, leather, and spicy nuances. Its oak is beautifully integrated, it's medium to full-bodied, has ripe, building tannins, and a great finish.

93pts Vinous

The 2021 Cabernet Signori is gorgeous. Rich, sumptuous and super-aromatic, the 2021 marries fruit intensity with tons of savory nuance. Plum, bay leaf, spice, tea leaves, mocha, tobacco and cedar are some of the notes that grace this decidedly cool-climate Cabernet from east-facing parcels on the property.

Winemaker Notes

Signorello’s Signori Cabernet Sauvignon pours a deep purplish-red, offering loads of dark berry and stone fruit aromas interwoven with hints of mocha, bergamot tea and potpourri. The palate is broad and expressive with waves of macerated cherries and ripe plum flavors mixed with notes of spiced blackberry preserves and mocha. A delicate acidity and sumptuous, well-integrated tannins guide you toward a concentrated, minutes-long finish. Enjoy with braised short ribs, bison burgers or beef tenderloin.

Winery Notes

Signorello Estate — co-founded by the father-son team of Ray Signorello Sr. and Ray Signorello Jr. in 1977 — is comprised 100 acres in the southwest corner of Napa Valley along the famed Silverado Trail. The estate was established to craft French-style wines of finesse, cultivating an Old World approach to winemaking. Thirty of the estate’s acres are planted to Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot on hillside vineyards composed of well-drained volcanic rocks and soil. Yield is limited to emphasize elegance and breeding and all fruit is hand-harvested and sorted. Wines are spontaneously fermented with native yeasts and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
