The land is the Counselor, and winemaker Nick Goldschmidt is “the man who listens to the land.” The wine opens with the freshest cherry aromas, leading to a juicy wash of fresh blueberries – and more cherries. Plush and round with nuances of rose petals, red tea leaves, and cinnamon. A gentle Cab, food-friendly with just about anything on the plate.

Tasting Notes

Nice deep purple with good intensity. The nose is fresh blueberry with red and black cherry. The mouth has more vertical tannins with good tension. Intense dark cherry with a hint of plum. The finish builds in the mouth with nice, fresh and supple tannins.

Winemaker Notes

This single vineyard Alexander Valley Cabernet is sourced from the River Pass Vineyard is located just north of Healdsburg in Sonoma County. Nick Goldschmidt has been working this site for 15 years. The 7 acre site receives gentle morning sun which permits longer hang-times and greater flavor development resulting in the ultimate balance of richness, depth and elegance.
