Winemaker Notes

This year’s flagship cuvee from our estate vineyard hails primarily from 3 blocks along the east side of the property, which receive morning sun, and are sheltered from the more intense late afternoon heat that effects the western facing blocks.  The result is a wine redolent of blue fruits (blueberry and plum) with an impeccable balance of juicy fruit and silky tannins.  2022 was a cooler vintage, impacted by a major frost event in mid-April which zapped many of the primary buds, knocking us back a month, and setting up the 3rd latest harvest on record here at Belle Pente.  The wine displays a distinct "old world" character, positioning it to evolve into a classic Willamette Valley vintage.  This is our most popular offering for great restaurants around the country, so it is ready to enjoy now and over the next several years.
