97pts Jeb Dunnuck
Based on the same blend of 65% Grenache with lots of Cinsault, the 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape is gorgeous, showing kirsch, blackberries, sappy spring flowers, pepper, and subtle minerality with an almost scorched earth-like character. Medium to full-bodied, beautifully textured, seamless and layered, it has ultra-fine tannins, integrated acidity, and a great finish. It's another sensationally layered, seamless wine from this estate that would best most Grand Cru Red Burgundies in a blind tasting and reminds me slightly of the 2020. Hide bottles for 4-5 years and enjoy over the following 15 years. Drink 2028-2038.
95pts James Suckling
The summer flowers pour from the glass of this seductive Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Wonderfully silky tannins on the graceful, full-bodied palate that feels lighter in alcohol than it really is. Very long, soft and silky finish that pulls you back for more of this elixir. From organically grown grapes.
94pts Wine Spectator
A perfumed, elegant and complex version, with inviting, high-toned notes of red currant and cherry draped with warm licorice. The palate starts out supple, then solid ballasts of graphite and fine tannins firm everything up for a fresh, focused finish that wafts with smoked sandalwood. Brown bread, cinnamon and nutmeg add complexity, with penetrating mineral depth. Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Drink now through 2032.
