Winemaker Notes

The wine displays a deep ruby color. Aromas of black cherry cassis, blackberry, and smoky leather emerge on the nose with a hint of spearmint. The palate shows flavors of currants, coffee, mocha, and a whisper of graham cracker and baked apple pie. On the finish, the wine shows firm tannins with medium-plus acidity and exhibits a long finish. Can age for 20 years.

Vineyard Notes

The lots for Hestan Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon are kept separate throughout winemaking to retain individual block and varietal characters. Small capacity fermentation tanks, carefully timed pump-overs and punchdowns, a mix of native and cultured yeasts, the finest French cooperage and extended aging result in a wine noted for its deep flavor and velvety tannins.
