Winemaker Notes

This wine shows a beautiful bright claret color with aromas of dark cherry, subtle cassis, and blackberry complemented by notes of dark chocolate and dried cranberry. The palate is layered with rich dark fruit, spice, and light barrel toast, while silky dark chocolate–like tannins and a poised freshness round out the finish. It drinks beautifully now but will also reward cellaring. Recommended pairings include lightly smoked springbok carpaccio, grilled veal chops, braised meat dishes, or a juicy steak.
