Winemaker's Notes

The Zeltinger Sonnenuhr (Sundial) is our best and steepest vineyard side. Like a sundial, the vineyard has the best exposition to the sun. The Auslese was vinified from handpicked and selected botrytised grapes with a very high ripeness. Accordingly, you will find aromas of pear, tropical fruits, raisins and honey. Try pairing this wine with your favourite types of cheese. Food pairing: Baked
goat cheese with honey; many strong and/or matured types of cheese, all blue cheeses, or with not too sweet desserts, e.g., strawberry sorbets...or chocolate! 8% alcohol by volume; 80 g/l residual sugar; 8 g/l acidity.

About the Winery

Heinrichshof, owned and run by brothers Peter and Ulrich Griebeler since 2014, is one of a handful of Mosel properties with a primary focus on making dry (Trocken) Riesling.  While the steep slopes above the Mosel have traditionally been dedicated to sweeter styles, Heinrichshof is adapting to a new era of ripeness, and is making dry Riesling of great energy and detail, without any austerity, all for very attractive prices.

In addition to the  dry whites, the Griebler brothers also produce beautiful Kabinett and Auslese Riesling, showcasing the piercing purity and lightness of touch of these traditional Mosel styles.
