93pts Tasting Panel
Over 12 clones were chosen for this nine-month, French oak-aged Pinot Noir. Wild strawberry, and Luxardo cherry-cola meet cute in this savory, light-hearted red. Prized with sweet tobacco, red licorice, and a searing acidity, notes of Italian herbs accelerate on mid-palate, finishing with dark plum and exotically spiced flowers.
91pts Wine Spectator
Delivers fresh, pinpoint notes of rooibos tea, blood orange and savory backed by the long, sleek finish. Drink now through 2030.
Winemaker Notes
The 2023 Twelve Clones has the power, balance, and finesse typical of SLH pinot noir. Notes of cherry cola, dried herbs, and baking spices are joined by mild tannins and good acidity. Wonderfully balanced with a long finish, it aims to please any pinot noir lover. Food accompaniments include lamb chops and BBQ chicken.

Vineyard Notes
Located in the well-drained foothills above the Salinas Valley, the Santa Lucia Highlands Appellation is California’s most distinctive region for growing terroir driven wines. Strong afternoon winds and coastal fog originating from nearby Monterey Bay flow through the AVA, resulting in one of the longest growing seasons in North America.
The Twelve Clones Pinot Noir is drawn from the finest vineyards of the Santa Lucia Highlands appellation, including Morgan’s organic Double L estate which, in the 2023 vintage, accounted for 65% of the final blend.
