The 2022 Rosso dei Notri is an unoaked blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot with smaller parts of Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese. This hot-vintage wine offers a point of chewy richness and extra ripeness with stewed cherry, prune and baked fruit. The fruit tannins are fine-grained and easily absorbed by the softness of the wine’s texture. You can’t escape that fruit maturity in a scorching vintage like 2022.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby red in color, with aromas of black fruits, namely blackberries, plums and ripe black cherries over more subtle notes of cocoa, licorice and sweet spice. On the palate, the wine is smooth, with silky tannins and bracing acidity, showing structural balance long into the finish.

Pair this wine with prosciutto-wrapped asparagus, spice rubbed chicken, or lasagna Bolognese with béchamel sauce.

Winemaker Notes

This youthful offering from Tua Rita is 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 10% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Franc, harvested in September from vineyards in the foothills of Suvereto, a small hilltop village in Tuscany. After a gentle pressing, the wine is aged for three months in French oak barriques and stainless steel tanks.
