95pts Jeb Dunnuck
Moving to the 2018, this is a vintage loved by winemaker Tony Biagi, and the wines showed beautifully across the board. Starting with the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, it could end up being one of the values of the year if it shows this well from bottle, displaying classic cassis, tobacco, and crushed rock-like minerality. With medium to full-bodied richness and depth, ripe, polished tannins, and great purity of fruit, it’s tastes like it cost three times the price. Barrel Sample: 93-95
93pts James Suckling
A cooler style of Napa cab with blackcurrants, hot stones and violets that follow through to a full-bodied palate with creamy, polished tannins that integrate nicely on the palate and provide a delicious combination of fruit and character. Drinkable now, but give it just one more year. Try after 2021.
The 2018 Amici Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is a dense, rich, and beautifully textured wine. Powerful aromas of cocoa, raspberry and blackberry pie are accented by hints of sage and crème de cassis. On the palate, flavors of black cherry, blackberry and dark chocolate carry the full-bodied palate through a long, mouthwatering finish laced with cedar box and black peppercorns.
Blend: 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 3% Petite Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc
